Please don’t climb on the sculptures

By hautepocket

*My original intent was to showcase the Best Of yesterday’s photo shoot at the Walker Art Center.  Along the way I got a tad bit sentimental and would first like to clarify a few things for my close friends out there who I know will be curious.  If you want to skip the sentimental girlish rambling, the photo shoot can be found by clicking the “read more” link at the bottom of this post.*

On Wednesday I had a visit from two of my high school girlfriends.  One of them has always been a long-time friend while the other–P7080538through a combination of her faults and probably my own–had fallen by the wayside over the course of time.  I have worried about her on several occasions and would see her intermittently with years passing between each meeting.  My friend is recently engaged, back in school, and is visibly 110 percent happier than the last time I saw her.  I am so proud of her and happy to see that her life is going much better than this time a year ago.  She wanted to make a trip to Minneapolis to not only catch up but spend some time shopping for her perfect wedding dress. While I will admit that I was at first a bit skeptical, I have to take this opportunity to say that I am so glad they came.

In high school our group of six girls were inseparable.  After graduation–and as expected–we all went our separate ways.  Now we are all spread across the country–and even the globe.  Our original group has effectively split into two smaller groups but one thing has never changed–I have remained friends with both sides.  I’ve no idea what makes me the only common bond between the six of us.  While this makes me a bit sad, mostly I just feel really blessed that–no matter what has happened to our group as a whole–you’ve all proven your love and trust, and valued my friendship over the years.  n59200223_30282625_1020

I will be the first to admit that I don’t necessarily think we would even all mesh anymore as a group of six.  At this point I just think I’m really lucky that you all call me your “best friend.”  I have my group I bestow with that title,  and they know who they are.  But thank you, friends.  I love you all and if time has proven anything, it should show that I always will.

Now, onto the photo shoot!

Oooh, I really like the one where you (I think it’s you) are hugging the pillar, under the erector-set dome thingy. That one and the cherry spoon one. Awesome!

I love the one of all the girls as seen through the flowers. It looks like it was a blast!

Question to add to your next Q&A? Does boyfriend like hanging out w/a bunch of girls all day? What a sweetie to take all those nice photos.

    Cool piccies! Boyfriend is talented!

And, even without knowing your friends, I can totally see why you’re the common denominator, darlin’.

You’re totally lucky to have that many friends still from high school…

And the pictures are fabulous. Love the coloring. The one of you three near the brick wall is my fave, if you were curious.
